01.01 – Purpose
Natural Hygiene Is A True Philosophy Of Life
This first lesson presents Natural Hygiene, the health system based soundly on the principles and practices that are in accord with our biological heritage. The purpose of this lesson is to introduce you to the philosophy, principles and practices of Natural Hygiene, and to this course.
The term ‘biological heritage’ perfectly describes the proper perspective for studying Natural Hygiene. Nature and Natural Laws have been creating, guiding, and supporting the biology of Life for hundreds of millions of years. Some say several billions of years. Think about what that means… imagine the vast amount of experience and collected knowledge that Nature has available for Her work. And for the past several million years human beings and our ancestors have existed on Earth. All this accumulated biological experience, knowledge, practice, and wisdom have set the standard for How We Shall Live to experience optimal health and happiness for ourselves.
In other words, everything you need to know, and everything you need to do to achieve excellent health, is already built inside of you. Your task is to reawaken that knowledge, and put it to use for yourself. These NHEP Courses will help you get there.
The message of this Course is essentially this: Optimum health will exist if your living practices are correct. Nature informs us about our optimal living practices. From optimal health flow goodness and virtues… harmony and happiness. Good health is a necessary condition for the full enjoyment of life.
In practice, the key to a healthy life is knowledge of what is necessary to achieve it, and proper balance in applying that knowledge. Once the simple needs of health are learned and put into practice, you move into applying those needs in an ever more balanced fashion. This is the art of life; the mastery of life.
As a setting for our studies, this lesson establishes some of the basic principles of health and sets the philosophical tone.
