First we define Natural Hygiene:

Natural – Of, relating to, or concerning Nature.
– from Latin “natura” – course of things; natural character, constitution, quality; the universe, literally “birth,” from natus “born,” past participle of nasci “to be born”.

Interestingly, if we dig deeper into the past, we find:
– the ancient Egyptian NTR – This is the Egyptian word for God, for a deity, or for a divine object. It is spelled NTR in hieroglyphics and pronounced Natcher. Some scholars posit the theory that NTR means nature, element, or principle… the energetic formative principle of nature. Which relates to the Latin: “natura,” meaning “essential qualities” or “birth.”
Regarding the suffix of the word natural – “al” – from Latin means “of, like, related to, pertaining to.”
So, the words Nature and Natural historically have a strong connection to “God,” along with the concept of “the formative principle.”
For me, I view Nature as a direct expression of God on Earth. Honor and respect for Nature is honor and respect for God.

Hygiene – The conditions and practices that promote and preserve health.
– from Greek “hygieine techne” – the healthful art; from “hygies” – healthy, sound, hearty; literally “living well”

Natural Hygiene: The natural principles and practices that promote and preserve optimal health.

Life as we know it is possible because certain favorable conditions were present. Life inherently possesses considerable strength and flexibility; yet life will only exist within fairly narrow environmental conditions. Some of these conditions include favorable temperature, presence of oxygen and other gases, minerals (rocks), presence of water, absence of lethal substances, etc.

Natural Hygiene is the study of all the conditions which make it possible for life to exist, and to thrive.

Because so much of humanity has been losing touch with the conditions and lifestyle practices which favor optimal life, Natural Hygiene brings us ‘back to the garden’, so to speak. We should strive to meet life’s needs, and to smoothly balance them in all aspects so that we can easily lead a joyous and fulfilling existence.

Natural Hygiene always refers to Nature as its mentor and teacher. Why? Because Nature Works. The systematic study of nature is called science. The knowledge gained by the scientific method is considerable and very useful. However, the methods used in the pursuit of scientific knowledge, especially in the life sciences, are by necessity fragmented and incomplete. Therefore, scientific facts alone never present a complete picture of reality.

Holistic, comprehensive understanding is required. In all matters concerning optimum health, you must refer back to Nature in her pristine majesty as your final authority.
