02.03 – Philosophical Foundation – Part 2

Cooperatively, each species with its needs and desires is also fully integrated in the larger ecology of all other life around it. And that local micro-ecology is itself fully integrated into the macro-ecology of planet Earth. A huge, intricate, multi-faceted and multi-layered living system. Each complex living being interacting in exquisite harmony with all its neighbors, while coping and thriving within the surrounding environmental conditions. An amazing planet-wide living system with an overarching Intelligence conducting and guiding every process.

From the seemingly primitive intelligence functioning within the simplest one-celled organism, to the grand overarching intelligence tasked with guiding and maintaining all life on our planet, this Intelligence has been at work for a very, very long time. The experience, wisdom and creativity innate to this Intelligence is vast beyond measure. Indeed, it is infinite. The human body, brain and mind, itself a product of this same Intelligence, has barely begun to tap into the depths of its own potential to reflect the Intelligence that created it.

The word ‘Nature’ connotes not only the inanimate substrate of our planet (elements, compounds, minerals, rocks, air, water, sunlight, etc), and also including all organic, animated life in all its varied forms that dwell within the substrate framework… the word Nature also includes the Intelligence that governs and directs the whole majestic process. Envision all of this, together, as One Grand Entity. A Oneness, always moving, changing and continually expressing itself in creative and beautiful ways.

You, too, are a part of this Oneness, perfectly made and integrated to play your own specific role in the ongoing beautiful expression of Life.

Some people like to criticize this, believing that humanity has moved beyond all this primitive ‘nature worship stuff,’ and that ‘spiritual realizations’ are merely figments of the imagination of an insecure, unstable mind. Their prevailing attitude is that now we know better… there is no reason to get your fingernails dirty… science, advanced human knowledge, and complex technology has freed us all from the constraints and harshness of Nature. Those who subscribe to this attitude are certain that rational science will show us a better way in all our pursuits.

Is that perspective true? Is technology the answer to our health problems?
