05.01 – Innate Individual Worth
Natural Hygiene holds that we are born naturally innocent and naturally impressionable. From birth onward, each of us are rapid-fire learners! The first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Natural Hygiene Philosophy states this.
Studies of babies and youngsters have pointed to one inescapable conclusion: As gregarious creatures, humans are naturally empathetic, altruistic and moral, i.e., humans are naturally righteous toward one another in keeping with their friendly social instinct. You could call this the Human Ethical Standard, because these traits are shared by all healthy human beings.
Humans are woefully perverted by unnatural conditions within the context of unhealthy, artificial civilization. We are made vicious by inhumane influences such as deceptive practices, exploitation, insecurity, and other baneful conditions in a society gone mad.
Individuals usually strive to present the appearance of upright, noble character to others. This illustrates our innate urge and conviction that we should be righteous. Natural Hygiene holds that if a society bases its laws, standards, and practices on Natural Laws, then the virtues innate to Natural Law will express themselves again and again through the actions of the people.
